The Harvard Project on American Indian Development (HPAIED) is a great resource for anyone interested in the set of topics suggested by its title. The book we assigned for this course, "Rebuilding Native Nations" edited by Miriam Jorgensen, is largely a product of HPAIED. In fact, there are two long reports published on their site specifically about the Tohono O'odham - one on nursing and the other on border issues.
